We want a region where activists are safer.
Our Grants represent our commitment to acuerpar (embody) movements in their most critical moments, enabling them not only to continue resisting but also to transform their reality.
The types of grants, as well as their criteria, have been modified based on our experience accompanying organizations and collectives. They seek to finance the protection, holistic safety, collective care and the defense of bodies and territories.
In the face of threats that impact more than one country, it is possible to access Regional Grants and seek collective solutions in broader networks.

What is the maximum amount for the donations that UAF-LAC awards?
For Rapid Response Grants in Safety and Protection and in Opportunity, the amount is 8,000 USD. If the application contains Collective Care actions, it can be increased up to a maximum of 10,000 USD. The Strategic Grants are 15,000 USD.
Who and what type of organizations does UAF-LAC finance?
Civil society organizations or collectives of women, feminists or transfeminists and sex and gender dissident people, that are referred by groups related to the Fund’s work. If it is a mixed organization (where cisgender men participate), leadership must be held by women.
Does my organization have to be officially registered in the country?
No. UAF-LAC does not require organizations to be officially registered. We understand that in some countries this may put activists and organizations at greater risk. However, if the grant is approved, the funds will be transferred to an organization that acts as a fiscal sponsor, that is, an organization that commits to receive the donation and transfer it to the applicant organization and/or activist.
Are there set times for submitting my Grant applications?
No. The system is available 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day.
Who has access to the information of my organization, applications and reports?
The information the is entered into the online system will only be accessible by your organization and the UAF-LAC team.
What happens if I don’t have a bank account in my organization’s name?
UAF-LAC cannot deliver donations to accounts held by individuals. One has to request support from an intermediary organization that will receive the donation on your behalf. They must submit a letter of commitment, signed by the legal representative and with the organization’s logo, stating that it will serve as an intermediary and they commit to provide the bank information and administer the donation.
