During the first week of July in Naivasha, Kenya, the three Urgent Action Funds (Urgent Action
Fund; UAF-‐Africa, and UAF-‐LA) carried out the meeting entitled “Closing Civil Society: feminist
organizing, resistance and resilience”, in order to discuss with over 30 FEMALE ADVOCATES and
activists from Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East the challenges they face, how they
resist and move forward in the face of the closing of spaces for civil society.
